Andreas Ladas has practised law in Nicosia, Cyprus, since February 1974. His main areas of expertise are commercial and company law, contract and tort, white collar crime, international arbitration, private international law, litigation, intellectual property law, land law, law of trusts, and energy law.

Andreas Ladas has practised law in Nicosia, Cyprus, since February 1974. His main areas of expertise are commercial and company law, contract and tort, white collar crime, international arbitration, private international law, litigation, intellectual property law, land law, law of trusts, and energy law.

Mr Ladas has handled, or is currently handling, some of the largest cases which have come before the Cypriot Courts, involving breaches of contract, tortious acts and frauds giving rise to multimillion euro damages claims, and registering and enforcing in Cyprus ICC arbitral awards in excess of USD 100 million under the New York Convention.

He has also handled cases which involved complicated legal and factual matters, in some instances creating caselaw, for example winning a claim of EUR430.000 for an owner of gaming machines, which were lawful before but were banned by a Law, for compensation for their value opening the way for similar claims, a land law case where the Court of Appeal defined the powers of the Director of the Land Registration Office in determining proprietary rights, as well as winning a passing-off and infringement of trade mark case against a well-known British retailer chain on behalf of a local shopkeeper.

In addition to his litigation portfolio, Andreas Ladas has impressive experience in non-contentious commercial and company law, tax law, law of trusts, and contract law, and has written expert legal opinions at the request of foreign clients on the law applicable in the Republic of Cyprus in these areas. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor of Law (LLB-Hons) from the University of London, King’s College (1969); Master of Arts (MA Dist) from the University of Leicester (1972), Barrister-at-law, Gray’s Inn (1970); Member of the Cyprus Bar Association (1971). Registered European Patent Attorney.

Qualifications:  Bachelor of Law (LLB-Hons) from the University of Manchester (2004); Master of Laws (LLM) from McGill University, Institute of Comparative Law (2005) concentration on Advanced IP and IT law; Member of the Cyprus Bar Association (2006); fully  registered Trusts and Estates Practitioner (TEP) with STEP (2015); Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb) (2015).

Despina Lada has practised law in Nicosia, Cyprus, since September 2005. Her main areas of expertise are european law, commercial and company law, litigation, intellectual property and IT law, property and real-estate law, energy law, shipping law, and trusts. She is a Registered Trusts and Estates Practitioner (TEP) with The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP), as well as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (ACIArb). Furthermore, she is an Associate Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLAN) Cyprus. Despina Lada completed an internship at the Maritime Department of the Cyprus High Commission in London (2007), as well as an internship at the Court of the European Union in Luxembourg at the chambers of the Cypriot judge (2011). Her litigation experience includes cases on breaches of contract, torts, land law, intellectual propertybreaches, european law breaches and administrative recourses. In addition to her litigation portfolio, Despina Lada has notable experience in non-contentious commercial and company law, law of trusts, contract law,energy law, shipping law, and IP and IT law.

Accounts Manager

Litsa Michael has been with G. & A. Ladas LLC since 2005, as our accounts manager and paralegal, handling invoices, receipts and payments, VIES forms and payments, ISO certificates, and performing a wide range of administrative and paralegal duties.

LITSA MICHAEL

Litsa Michael has been with G. & A. Ladas LLC since 2005, as our accounts manager and paralegal, handling invoices, receipts and payments, VIES forms and payments, ISO certificates, and performing a wide range of administrative and paralegal duties.

She has worked for 19 years at an Insurance company, gaining significant experience in all administrative areas regarding cover notes, insurance contracts, forms and claims, and was licensed by the Registrar of Insurance Companies. In addition, she has extensive experience in the Accounts Department, dealing with invoices, receipts and payments, and closing accounts.
