Alexia C. Couccoullis


Alexia Couccoullis has practiced law since 2007, and her main areas of expertise include gaming law, Societas Europaea, ICC arbitration, and anti-money laundering, due diligence and compliance. 

She has extensive experience in corporate transformation from national companies to European Companies (Societas Europaea), she is a national expert on Greece and Cyprus for the European research center Max Planck Institute for European Criminal Law on fraud, corruption and the European Arrest Warrant, following awarding by the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF), and she is also a specialized partner of the Instituto Europeo de Derecho, providing national reports for Greece and Cyprus in EU matters following the Council of Europe assignment. Further, she cooperates closely with Greek and Cypriot Banks and insurance companies for compliance matters, and is a member of the International Masters of Gaming Law (IMGL) for Greece and Cyprus.

In addition, Alexia Couccoullis specializes in international, commercial and investment arbitration, and is certified by the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, University of London. Since 2012 she has been nominated as one of the 100 Arbitrators for the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Moreover, Alexia Couccoullis is widely published in her areas of expertise in leading Greek newspapers, as well as in specialized AML and Gaming publications, and participates as a speaker at conferences in Greece and abroad.

Qualifications: Law Degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (LL.M Athens, 2006); MPhil from the University of London, Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (2011) on Societas Europaea; currently undertaking a PhD from the University of London, Institute of Advanced Legal Studies on Gaming Law, and IALS Arbitration Certificate (IALSArb). Member of the Athens Bar Association (2008), member of Cyprus Bar Association (2012)
